Tabmio Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026.
Tabmio helps you put away idle browser tabs and restore them later. This policy covers the extension, licensing service and customer support.
Tabs and local records
The extension processes tab URLs, titles, favicon addresses, activity timing, pinned state and audio state in your browser to decide which tabs may be put away and to save and restore records. If you enable bookmark protection, it checks locally whether a page is bookmarked.
Recovery records are stored in this browser's local extension storage. Activity measurements and pending cleanup state use session storage. Tabmio does not upload tab URLs, titles, bookmarks or browsing records to our licensing service. It does not read page contents, forms or passwords.
You can delete recovery records in the extension. Uninstalling it, clearing extension storage or deleting a browser profile can permanently remove local records. Appearance preferences may sync through Chrome if you enable Chrome Sync. Tab records and license data are not written to Chrome Sync.
Trial and licensing
The extension stores a random installation identifier, the time you first enable automatic cleanup, the latest observed time and license state locally. Before purchase, trial usage and tab records do not need to be sent to a licensing server.
When you enter a license key, the extension sends the key, random installation identifier and any existing license instance identifier to our licensing service over HTTPS. The service checks the license's product, environment, purchase and activation status with Creem, then returns a signed receipt. Activated copies try to validate once a day. Being offline does not automatically revoke a valid lifetime receipt.
The service database retains license, product, order, random installation and activation instance identifiers, plus revocation timestamps, to provide activation, support and refund handling. It does not store raw license keys. Hosting and network providers may process IP addresses, request times and ordinary connection metadata needed to serve requests. We do not use these for cross-site tracking or advertising profiles.
Payments and support
Payments take place on Creem's separate checkout page. As merchant of record, Creem handles checkout, receipts, tax, refunds and necessary payment information under its own privacy policy. The extension and licensing service do not receive full payment card details. See Creem's privacy policy.
When you contact support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use it to resolve support, licensing and refund requests. Please do not send passwords, verification codes or payment card numbers.
Other network requests
Brand assets, illustrations and fonts are bundled with the extension. Your browser may request a saved page's favicon from its original address. That website processes connection information under its own policy. Restoring a page or following a purchase or support link opens the website you selected.
Use, sharing and security
Data is used only for the tab cleanup, recovery, licensing and support functions you choose, and necessary transaction, tax and legal obligations. We do not sell user data or use it for advertising, unrelated analytics, credit assessment or unrelated purposes. We share necessary information only with service providers needed for these functions or as required by applicable law.
We comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use restrictions. Licensing traffic uses HTTPS. Payment API keys and signing private keys stay on the server.
Website
The website serves its own fonts and brand assets and uses no analytics trackers. Demo searches are processed in the current page and are not uploaded. Hosting providers may process connection information needed to serve normal requests.
Retention and your requests
You control local records. Server-side license and order identifiers are retained to provide lifetime activation, handle refunds and meet necessary transaction record obligations. Information is deleted when no longer needed unless retention is legally required. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of server-side information about you. Deleting license records may prevent future online activation or purchase recovery; we will explain that effect.
